Kitui Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu has now turned guns on her deputy Governor Dr. Wathe Nzau for alleged collusion with MCAs to impeach her so that he can be Governor.

Speaking at Kitui Rural Subcounty Ngilu told her deputy governor to wait till her term ends so that he can go and ask for votes from Kitui people rather than using the back door to get into power just as she did in 2007 elections.

“If it is not for Mwamusya our son my seat as your governor could have been long gone, you elected me in this position but as we talk now your governor would be coming from Mwingi as they were saying that my seat be given to the deputy governor and I had appointed him from Mwingi, my deputy will come and ask for his seat but he will not use the backdoor to get into power, ” she said.

Last month, Kitui MCAs led by the Majority leader Peter Kilonzo alias Tangawizi postponed the impeachment motion of Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu which was scheduled for discussion after 3 MCAs were reported missing.

“You know we invited the Governor to present herself in the Assembly but we cannot proceed if these MCAs are missing, their voters would wish to hear how they vote in the assembly either opposing or proposing,” Kilonzo said then.

Kilonzo in the impeachment motion had accused Ngilu of misappropriation of public funds, Conflict of interest in the procurement of the ballast crusher, Failure to appoint a Health CECM for over 2 years, Failure to honour senate summons, undermining the authority of the County Assembly and failing to dismiss Trade, cooperative and Investment CECM Philip Mumo even after the assembly impeached him among other accusations.
