Ndeke ya Muthanga Advise to Women on their Daughters’ Marriages

Kamba gospel artist Ken Kijana, popularly known as Ndeke ya Muthanga, has called on mothers to support their daughters’ marriages, regardless of their husband’s financial circumstances.

Speaking during the burial of his wife’s grandmother, Ndeke emphasized the importance of respecting a daughter’s choice of partner, even if they come from humble beginnings.

“When your daughter gets married, even to the poorest person who digs trenches, please leave them alone,” Ndeke said.

He lamented that some mothers interfere in their daughters’ marriages, creating unnecessary challenges.

Sharing his own story, Ndeke recounted how he married his wife, Maggie, during a time of financial hardship.

“When I got married, I was very poor. I didn’t even have a mattress, yet my wife left a comfortable mattress at her home to come live with me. That’s how I knew she loved me,” Ndeke narrated.

The gospel artist urged families to discard the mindset that marrying a poor person equates to failure in life.

“Even the worst situations can turn for the better,” he noted, adding that his wife’s unwavering support has been instrumental in his success.

“If my mother-in-law had advised my wife to leave me, today she would be regretting.”

Ndeke, who gained fame last year for his controversial dancing styles, has always been vocal about his admiration for his wife. He highlighted how she has stood by him through thick and thin.

“I will always brag about my wife because she loved and supported me when I had nothing,” he said, affirming his commitment to defending her from public criticism.
