Controversial gospel artist Ken Kijana, popularly known as Ndeke ya Muthanga, is starting from scratch after his newly built house collapsed in a dramatic turn of events.
In a candid TikTok video, the outspoken artist revealed his plight, showing followers the makeshift home he’s now living in, constructed from iron sheets salvaged from the fallen structure.
Ndeke, known for his blunt and often controversial takes, shared that the house had been built with poorly dried bricks, which couldn’t withstand the elements.
“Guys I built my house with bricks that had not been dried well and it came down crumbling, afterwards I used the iron sheets to build this room so that we could sleep in as I start rebuilding. It is cold at night. I don’t know how people in Mathare and other slums in Nairobi manage,” he lamented, giving a rare glimpse into his struggle.
The gospel star also opened up about his regret in relocating his wife from Nairobi to their rural home, only for them to face such a setback.
“Many artists don’t have homes in their villages do your investigations and you will know I’m speaking facts,” he admitted.
In a scene that has both amused and concerned fans, the Kisung’uli hitmaker was captured pushing his wife in a wheelbarrow as they headed to fetch sand for the rebuilding process.
