In a stunning display of talent and determination, Regina Munanu Kitheka a grade 7 pupil from Mukuthu Primary in Mwingi West, Kitui has been crowned the 100-meter champion at the East Africa Primary School Games happening in Uganda.
Regina showcased her incredible speed and determination leading to her victory, marking a significant milestone in her young career, as she took first place in the fiercely competitive event, securing a medal for her school and county.
“I’m so happy to have won this race. It means a lot to me, my school, and my community. I want to continue working hard and one day represent Kenya in international competitions,” she said with a beaming smile.
Her victory has been celebrated as a triumph not only for her but for the entire community setting her apart as one of the most promising athletes to emerge from Mwingi West, igniting hopes for a bright future in athletics.
Mwingi West MP, Charles Ngusya Nguna took to Facebook to congratulate the rising star with a motivating post while promising to support and mentor Regina until she becomes an Olympic material.
