Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has publicly criticized Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musau alias ‘Kawaya,’ for what he perceives as an attempt to compete with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for Ukambani kingpin.
Mwangangi did not mince words, stating that Kawaya lacks the political experience and stature to rival Kalonzo Musyoka.
He emphasized that Kawaya should not compare himself to Kalonzo merely because of his association with President Ruto.
“Just because you talk and walk with President William Ruto you should not think you can compete with Kalonzo. I have heard you call yourself Kingpin, Kingpin for who stop lying to yourself,” Mwangangi said.
Mwangangi who spoke in a burial ceremony in Ngonda, Matungulu sub county noted that a unified region would ensure Kalonzo gets to presidency easily.
The Deputy Governor’s comments reflect the ongoing dynamics within Ukambani politics, with various leaders aspiring for influence and prominence.
Kalonzo Musyoka, a seasoned politician with a long-standing presence in Kenyan politics, has traditionally been seen as a key figure in the region more so now that his intent is to vie for the presidency.
