Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has reassured the public that the county government will continue its operations seamlessly, despite recent high-profile departures.
Mwangangi emphasized that the county is well-prepared to manage the vacancies left by Chief of Staff Lawrence Ngovi’s dismissal and Health CEC Daniel Yumbya’s resignation last month.
“Work will continue as before, and even better, because we have capable leaders, including Her Excellency, supported by other officials. Rest assured, the absence of one or two individuals will not be felt.” Mwangangi said.
This statement comes as Machakos residents grapple with the sudden changes in their local government.
Last week, Governor Wavinya Ndeti addressed the situation, suggesting a divine intervention in the removal of ineffective officials.
She declared, “God is cleansing our government. Some of these officials were my allies, but no one will be spared in our mission to serve the residents effectively.”
The two officials have not been replaced yet and residents are waiting to see who will be appointed to those positions.
