Mwangangi: 240 million for Machakos Cancer Center was embezzled

Machakos County Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has alleged embezzlement of funds meant for the Machakos Cancer Center.

Speaking at Athi River during the launch of Ng’arisha Mtaa na Governor Wavinya Mwangangi alleged that the contractor awarded the tender to construct the cancer centre embezzled the money.

“As I speak here Machakos county is supposed to have the best cancer centre not only in this country but in this region, but 240 million one man who won the contract decided not to build the cancer centre but they just painted the house and took the money,” Mwangangi claimed, remarks which Mauvoo News could not independently verify.

“You know the contractor very well, I will speak candidly. That man is walking around giving people maize flour and 200 shillings and he is now a member of parliament when people are dying of cancer instead of building a centre for them yet now he has the guts to question the county government,” he added.

The deputy governor went on ahead to warn elected leaders who were busy campaigning for 2027 calling on them to concentrate on delivering to the people.
