Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musau, popularly known as Kawaya, has dismissed recent claims suggesting his intention to unseat Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the Ukambani kingpin.
Speaking in Nguluni, Matungulu sub-county of Machakos county Kawaya clarified his stance, emphasizing a call for unity and development within the community.
“I am not here to compete with anyone or to snatch leadership positions, I have heard claims that I want to be kingpin but it’s not true” Kawaya asserted.
“What I seek is to be a team leader, working collaboratively to steer our community towards progress and prosperity.” He went on.
During his address, Kawaya highlighted a longstanding issue of Ukambani being marginalized politically, resulting in minimal government support and development initiatives in the region.
“For decades, our people have been misled into staying outside the government’s circle, depriving us of the much-needed assistance and growth opportunities. Those lying to you have guzzlers and great life while they convince you to stay out of the government,” he lamented.
This declaration comes amidst ongoing discussions within Ukambani’s political landscape, with various leaders vying for influence and representation.
Earlier Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi had asked Kawaya to tread carefully in his ambitions as he wouldn’t oust Kalonzo Musyoka.
