Mwala MP contest heats up as Wiper’s Kilei begins drilling 2 boreholes in each ward


A year to the 2022 general election, The competition for the Mwala MP seat has heated up. Aspirants are coming out seeking to unseat the incumbent Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau come August 2022.

Machakos County contractors Chair Kilei Mutinda revealed that he has partnered with commission mankind to drill 2 boreholes in the six wards of Mwala. This is likely to raise the profile of Kilei in the constituency.

Kilei Mutinda spoke over the weekend during the commissioning of a borehole at Kaiani Village in Wamunyu/ Yathui ward in Mwala constituency.

Commission Mankind in a statement said, “We had the first Borehole, Well Celebration of this year in Kaiani!! And it was Joyous! What an awesome day giving Glory and Praise to God and Thanking Him for all He has done! The testimonies of the people of Kaiani’s love and appreciation for God’s gift of water were overwhelming. We were humbled as the community prayed for us and blessed us.”

This was one of the best moments of the people of Kaiani where they were deprived of walking for kilometers in search of water. One of the key issues Hon. Kilei promised the residents is fresh and clean water and pledged to continue extending this if given the chance by Mwala Constituency residents in the 2022 general elections.

The Mwala parliamentary seat is believed to be one of those that will be highly contested. The frontrunners so far are the incumbent Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau, Kilei Mutinda and Peter Kathukya. Urbanus Muthama Ngengele who recently lost the Machakos senatorial seat is rumored to have interest as well.
