Mwala MP Hon. Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau has called for an end to the stalemate that has been witnessed between Machakos MCA’S and Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua. Musyoka was speaking Saturday at the Funeral of Mr. Titus Mutisya in Masii. Mr. Mutisya was a teacher before he died after getting involved in accident at King’atuani last week. He was also the husband to the Chief Masii location Salome Mutisya.

“Let us unite, let us focus on delivering services to our people” Musyoka added. He urged the leaders to put politics aside and focus on development as their divisions were negatively affecting development. Musyoka called on Governor Mutua to rise to the occasion and unite MCA’s. The second term MP offered to mediate so as to ensure the current impasse is done away with.

Masii MCA Betty Nzioki said that the MCA’s were defending the truth and were focused on protecting the County resources. This comes as the division between the MCA’s and the Governor seemed to widen after they impeached Eng. Francis Maliti as the County Executive in charge of Finance. The funeral was also attended by Machakos County Women Representative Joyce Kamene, Mwala Makutano ward MCA Brian Kisila and his Muthetheni counterpart.

  1. The way I see it, the County Assembly is only demanding that the County executive does the right thing. The issues in the impeachment motion against Mr. Francis Maliti are not trivial. Fixing them will be advantageous for people of Machakos county. This begs the question of – if the MP wants to mediate between the County executive and the assembly, are they saying that the assembly should compromise on the issues raised against Mr. Maliti (the executive)? And if the mediation is successful, where does that leave the Mwananchi on the matters of incompetence and alleged impunity that must be addressed? The member of national assembly should focus on providing oversight to the National Governement. The MP should not be misdirecting their energy yet there are serious issues of public debt and corruption at the national government level.
