Mwala MP Asks Opposition to Support Revised Finance Bill

Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musau has called on lawmakers from the opposition to cast their votes in favor of the Finance Bill.

Speaking to Mauvoo News, Musau asserted that all contentious clauses had been removed, eliminating the need to reject the bill.

“There are leaders speaking negatively about the bill who haven’t even read it, Some of these leaders are now misleading the public,” Musau stated.

He emphasized that any leaders claiming there are still hidden elements within the Finance Bill should come forward and specify what those elements are.

“The main issues causing resistance, such as the vehicle tax, bread tax, money transfer levies, and the elimination of the feeding program, have been dropped,” Musau said. “There is now no reason to vote NO to the bill.”

Musau urged MPs to act in the best interest of their constituents by supporting the bill. “If those MPs claim they care about their constituents, they should vote yes. I urge Kenyans to be vigilant because some leaders are lying about the Finance Bill. If they say it’s bad, please ask them to explain where.”

This statement followed a briefing by the finance committee to the Kenya Kwanza parliamentary group on the revised bill.
