Mwala: Kasoa Eases Water Burden for locals

Residents of Kitie village in Mwala Sub-county, Machakos County, have a reason to smile after benefiting from the establishment of three new water points within their locality.

The project, spearheaded by Nairobi Public Service Board Chairman Thomas Kasoa, aims to ease the burden of long treks in search of clean water a challenge that has affected the community for years.

Kasoa, who has been at the forefront of championing clean water access for Mwala residents, noted that women in particular have borne the brunt of the water crisis.

“For years, women here have been waking up at the crack of dawn to search for water. Clean water brings dignity and relief to families, and I’m proud to have kept my promise to the people of Kitie,” he said.

Speaking to Mauvoo News, some of the residents expressed their gratitude, saying the new water points have not only saved them from long, exhausting walks but also spared them frequent backaches caused by carrying heavy water containers.

“This is a huge relief for us. I can now even send my children to fetch water without worry. It’s refreshing and has given us more time to focus on other things,” said one of the locals.

Kasoa pledged to continue working closely with the community to address other pressing needs as part of his ongoing development agenda for the region.

He has also reiterated that he will be vying for the Mwala parliamentary seat in the next general elections.
