Mutua tweeted this while mourning the death of the 29-year old doctor Dr. Stephen Mogusu who died of Covid-19, who he said was attached at Machakos by the National Government Universal Health Program(UHC) saying that it was sad that he had not received his pay for months.

“Sad to learn of the passing of Dr. Stephen Mogusu, attached to Machakos by National Govt’s UHC program &  PAY. Improper that his employer, the National Govt, had not paid him for months. Drs employed by my Govt have NO salary arrears, receive allowances & ALL have insurance cover,” Mutua via a tweet said.

This comes as Nurses and clinical officers in Machakos level 5 hospital downed their tools on Monday paralyzing operations in the hospitals where many patients were left unattended due to the ongoing strike by the nurses.

About 30 pregnant mothers in Machakos Level 5 were left on Monday stranded without knowing what to do since most of the nurses were nowhere to be seen same as to outpatient area many were left unattended.
