Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has made a fiery declaration, vowing to support the impeachment bill against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
This stems from a bitter encounter between the two during the controversial demolitions at East African Portland Cement Company (EAPCC) land last year.
Makau revealed that, in a moment of desperation, he sought help from the DP to intervene and stop the evictions of his constituents.
However, Gachagua’s response, according to Makau, left him shattered.
“He mocked me,” Makau recalled bitterly. “‘Go and tell Kalonzo,’ he said, dismissing my plea like it was nothing while my people were left homeless and hopeless.”
Makau had proposed a compromise: allowing the government to retain 4,000 acres while sparing just 300 acres for the displaced families.
But Gachagua’s cold response, seemingly tying everything to political allegiances, only deepened the MP’s resentment.
“This isn’t about politics, this is about the lives of my people. They were counting on me,” Makau said, his voice filled with emotion.
“I know revenge is not right in the eyes of God, but this is personal now. I will not forget.”Makau added.
