Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has dismissed Statehouse chief of staff Nzioka Waita’s Machakos Gubernatorial ambition.

Makau who was speaking in Mlolongo dismissed Waita as a coward for putting up billboards without mentioning his name and the position he will be vying for.

“The guilty are afraid. This person who has put billboards here without names, the guilty are afraid. He comes here to say he has been sent by the president to vie. He has been chief of staff. If he has been a good servant of the president and that’s where all projects come from, I have never heard he has a foundation or built anything even in Safaricom where he was.”Makau said.

“My friend I call Uhuru on my phone, you can’t call him because you are a coward. How can you leave Nairobi to come to vie in Machakos if you are a good loyal servant, the president could have made him governor. You think there are no people in Machakos. When he comes here ask him what is his mother tongue and when he was last seen home and where is his home. Who is he, who does he associate with, what has he done. The story of projects ended in 2013 when we got Mutua. Machakos is not for auction or for sale.” He added.

The MP further expressed confidence that he will beat Wavinya Ndeti, Florence Mwangangi, and other candidates interested in the Wiper party ticket during the gubernatorial nominations.

Makau also said he influenced the appointment of Wavinya Ndeti as CAS and that of Florence Mwangangi as the Machakos County Assembly speaker. The Mavoko MP accused Wavinya of taking credit for projects in her ministry which commenced before she was appointed and lobbied by others. On Machakos Speaker Florence Mwangangi, Makau said she lobbied MCAs to vote for her so that she oversights Mutua.
