Many bright but needy children may fail to join schools of their choice due to financial constraints, says MP Eng. Vincent Musau alias Kawaya.
Speaking after a church service at Masii parish the lawmaker called upon leaders, clergy, and Non-Governmental Organizations to rescue these stranded kids and ensure they join Secondary school.
“Times are hard and we can see some of the students who sat for exams but cannot proceed to secondary school because of lack of fees,” said the lawmaker.
“It would be better if leaders, Government, organizations, and well-wishers can come to the rescue of such kids who need to be in school,” he added.
Musau spoke after pledging to sponsor two girls who had no fees for a whole year. The girls were called to join Machakos Girls and Pangani Girls in Nairobi.
Diana Munyiva was schooling at Makutano AIC and scored 408 marks while Mercy Muoki schooled at Masii DEB primary school and got admitted to Machakos Girls.
“I’m so happy I have received a cheque from MP Vincent Musau, My mother was confused about how I wouldl continue with my education. I’m glad and excited because I’m joining my dream school,” said Diana Munyiva.
Form Ones will begin reporting to school on the 6th of February.
