Mitaboni Ward Member of County Assembly Fredrick Muthoka has urged the ministry of Interior to ensure a permanent Assistant County commissioner is brought to the area. This he says will ensure security and service delivery to the locals.
Muthoka who spoke during Madaraka day celebrations said that the Division was gazetted two years ago. However since then, two Assistant County Commissioners have been brought and then transferred immediately leaving residents with a lot of questions.
According to the MCA the residents are forced to go to Kathiani to seek government services which has proven to be tiresome and costly.
“The ministry of interior should bring us a permanent ACC so that services can be enhanced and security assured to our residents. Our people have been forced to go up to Kathiani to seek services that can be provided if we have our own ACC. ” Muthoka said.
Muthoka also urged members of the public to protect public property. This is after he was forced to replace solar panels that were stolen by unknown people from Kwa Nthesya and Kalikya boreholes.
He reiterated that residents should be on the look out for the unscrupulous people out to destroy projects that cost tax payers money.
“These projects are for our own benefit let’s be vigilant because some people are vandalizing government projects, let’s not let our money go down the drain because of a few greedy people,” he advised.
Muthoka also disclosed that grading works are ongoing in several roads among them Kenol-Maanzoni road, Mitaboni-mwanya’ani-Kwa Ngila road, Miwani road lamong others.
He observed that in a bid to enhance service delivery the MCA’s office construction will begin this month. This means that there will be no renting of the office anymore.
The celebrations were attended by a Kathiani Member of parliament Robert Mbui, Kathiani central ward MCA Dominic Ndambuki, Nominated MCA Christine Koki among others.
