Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have discovered a body believed to be that of Victoria Mumbua Muloki, a taxi driver who went missing in late September.
The discovery was made at the Nairobi City Mortuary after investigators interrogated Edwin Ng’etich, the primary suspect, who had been found in possession of Muloki’s stolen vehicle.
Following a detailed interrogation, Ng’etich led detectives to a site in Mai Mahiu, Kiambu County, where he allegedly dumped the body near a road in Lari.
The body had been recovered from the scene and taken to the City Mortuary on September 29, 2024, but remained unidentified until recent developments.
Ng’etich was arrested in Nakuru while driving Muloki’s car and has reportedly committed similar crimes in the past.
Muloki’s family in Mombasa has been notified. The family say they will be traveling to Nairobi to conduct further identification processes, including DNA, as police plan for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
