Endau/Malalani MCA Erastus Musyoka Mbuno has been reinstated as the Deputy Majority Leader in the County Assembly of Kitui.
Mbuno who was dewhipped from the position in 30th December 2022, through a letter from the Majority Party Whip, Boniface Katula (Kanyangi MCA), didn’t hide his joy after being reinstated. Mbuno said that he is a happy man to see that God has done wonders.
“Thank you, Lord, what I lost has come back Deputy Leader Majority Party (Wiper Party) Kitui County. I believe others are on the way coming because there is God in heaven,” the Endau Malalani MCA stated.
In his communication, Kitui Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya communicated to the House that on 24th April 2023, the Majority Party Whip wrote to his office communicating the decision arrived by the Party to reinstate Erastus Musyoka Mbuno as the Deputy Leader of the Majority Party.
The Speaker requested the MCAs to support Mbuno and work as a team for the success of the Assembly and unity of purpose.
‘’I request all the Members of the County Assembly to extend their support and cooperation to Hon. Erastus Musyoka Mbuno as he resumes his duties in this important leadership position. We are all committed to ensuring that we serve the people of Kitui as a team’’, Speaker Kinengo stated.
MCA Erastus Mbuno had been replaced by former Musyi FM presenter Jacqueline Kalenga who has served in the position for less than 6 months. According to a statement posted on the County Assembly of Kitui’s Facebook page, Speaker Kinengo also appreciated the outgoing Deputy Leader of the Majority Party Jacquelyn Cate Kalenga who is a nominated MCA for her diligent service in the interim period.
‘’I call upon us to move forward with a renewed sense of unity, purpose, and dedication’’, the statement from Speaker Kinengo stated.
Mbuno added that he is willing and ready to serve the Wiper Party as he also represents the interests of his people at the Assembly.
