Masinga MP Accuses Wavinya of Incompetence, Endorses Makau’s 2027 Bid

Masinga MP Joshua Mwalyo has launched a scathing critique against Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, accusing her of being unable to collaborate effectively with the county’s elected leaders and incompetence.

Speaking at the burial of the elder brother of Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, Mwalyo expressed concerns about Ndeti’s leadership and management of Machakos County.

The MP stated that Governor Ndeti has struggled to establish a working relationship with all eight Members of Parliament representing constituencies within Machakos County.

“Do you mean we are the problem?” Mwalyo remarked, calling attention to the discord between the county administration and the 8 MPs.

Mwalyo went further to claim that the governor is not managing the county effectively. He called on the county’s Chief of Staff and other senior officials to step in and advise Ndeti on how to run the county more efficiently.

“Please Machakos County officials why don’t you advice the governor accordingly,” questioned the MP over over a recent project launched by the governor in his constituency.

The MP claims that the governor recently launched a hospital in his constituency without consulting local leaders. He suggests that the governor should have first upgraded the hospital in the same area before opening a new one.

In a significant political development, Mwalyo publicly endorsed Mavoko MP Patrick Makau for the 2027 Machakos gubernatorial race, pledging his full support in campaigning for Makau.

“I can tell you for free that when I start campaigning in Masinga Wavinya will not get any votes, my word is final there,” Stated the MP.

The Masinga MP also addressed Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, urging him to refrain from meddling in Machakos County politics.

“I would like to respectfully ask Kalonzo not to involve himself in the political affairs of Machakos. Let the people decide who their leaders should be,” Mwalyo said, signaling potential internal tensions within the Wiper Party.

The burial ceremony, meant to honor Makau’s late brother, turned into a political platform, sparking further speculation about the growing divisions within the Machakos County leadership as the 2027 elections loom.

Masinga MCA Joshua Mwonga and his Muthwani counterpart are among leaders who endorsed Makau at the burial.
