A section of locals from Masinga sub-county have come out to defend their MP Joshua Mwalyo.
The locals claimed that they voted for Mwalyo knowing he was capable of discharging his duties and they have confidence in his leadership.
Led by David Musyoka the locals warned those threatening to burn down the lawmaker’s house that they would deal with them.
“We don’t want to see what we witnessed in other areas of the country happen in Masinga. We did not elect a lunatic and those threatening our MP that they will burn down his house should know that they should do that at their own peril,” said Musyoka.
“Masinga has been peaceful no demos have been happening unless people are ferried from other areas we don’t expect any unrest from our own people,” he added.
They noted that the unrest and demos were uncalled for since the president had already withdrawn the finance bill after a public outcry.
Last week Joshua Mwalyo disclosed that he had gotten threats that his house would be torched down over the finance bill. Missed the story? check it out below;
