Controversial Kamba Gospel artist Jackson Mutinda alias Masekete has told off fellow gospel artists Wilberforce Musyoka, John Kay, and John Mbaka.
Addressing the press after ETA awards, Masekete first took a swipe at fans of the artists.
“This award is for the whole country, they keep saying we only have 3 true gospel artists. Are we in labor when singing or mad? Were you there when we were being called? People must respect us and our talents. 13 years is no joke. I began singing in 2010 and sold my first cassettes in 2011, as we sold eggs in Mlolongo and later Muguka in Makuti where were you?” Masekete said.
“You want to tell me how to live? Saying we only know 3 people in gospel scene? Where are they here? Have they won any awards? During Mercy’s burial did you see them? Do you see them in any fundraiser or function? Even if I die let them not come to view my body. Nonsense. If you are not there when I’m alive let me not see you when I’m dead.” He added.
Masekete won the Gospel Artist of the Year in the 4th Edition of the ETA awards. His remarks sparked uproar from fans of the 3 artists and here are some;
Its Onexy said, “The love I have for Wilberforce Musyoka nothing can change me to this other noise makers.”
Irene Captain said, “Someone like Wilberforce has never bothered to win anything from the world. He knows His reward is in heaven. Sema hallelujah.”
Mamake said, “Our legends,John Kay, John mbaka Wilberforce musyoka endeleeni kukaa kimya, vita sio vyenu ni vya Mungu.”
Annety Natasha, “Rewards zao ziko mbinguni hawapendi sifa na mitulyo…..Mungu n yy anajua kazi yao na n yy atawalipa….Team wliber let’s gather here.”
Samuel said, “Pride becomes before fall we na kasolo mukamina nai let’s wait and see.”
Pesh Bahati added, “yote hutoka kwa mungu please haina haja ya kutusiana oyiee God is everything please please you people respect matters alot so ukitusi mtu umetusi God.”
Faith Tech added, “Ile kiburi iko na some of kamba gospel artist iko on another level, were waiting for their downfall.
Shaz fay added,”wewe acha kelele…..Wilberforce, John kay and John Mbaka are our best gospel artists we know.”
