Jackson Mutinda popularly known as Masekete Friday broke down in tears as he came out to announce the fallout with Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
The singer claimed that he was not paid his dues for the Vuka Festival held on 31st December 2024 at the Machakos People’s Park.
“It was a private event, I pitched the idea and the County agreed to support it. For 3 months I stopped all bookings to concentrate on making the event a success. When she (Governor) returned from abroad, I have called her and she has not picked up, the son too.” A furious Masekete claimed.

“Naskia vibaya, Natumiwa vibaya na wanasiasa. My sister had a painful death after a botched surgery affected her intestines. Governor Wavinya promised to pay a lawyer to get us justice, but nothing happened. 5 Months are over, I gathered 20,000 people from all over Machakos, and ive never been paid.”
The singer said he wants nothing to do with politics going forward.
“I was given the artist’s money and I ensured all were paid. I also paid for the instruments and everything. I don’t want anything from the county, money or jobs, I need nothing. I want to be myself. I don’t want politics. I won’t support anyone but when the time comes I will guide Machakos people.” Masekete concluded.
