A middle-aged man lost his life on Friday after being run over by a train in Athiriver, Mavoko sub-county of Machakos county.
The saddening incident was confirmed by Mavoko location chief Nzau Komu who told the media that the man was walking along the meter rail gauge when tragedy struck.
The chief noted that the man who was not identified immediately lost both his legs and died a few moments later while being rushed to Machakos level 5 hospital for treatment.
