Mama Ida Odinga has lauded Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka for his long-standing and genuine friendship with her late husband, Raila Odinga.
Speaking at the family’s Opoda Farm during a visit by Kalonzo and his delegation, Mama Ida expressed deep gratitude for the support shown by the Wiper leader during the mourning period.
“Only those who truly loved us, only those who truly loved Raila Odinga, have come here to mourn with us. For that, I am very grateful,” she said.
Mama Ida emphasized that her remarks were not political, noting that her husband was the politician in the family.
“I know some people may want to mix this with politics. Personally, I’m not a politician my husband was. Don’t expect me to bring politics here. But from what I know, Honorable Kalonzo has been a friend of Baba for many, many years, and that friendship cannot be erased. When you see him here with his team, it is genuine he has come to mourn his friend,” she added.
Mama Ida also commended Kalonzo for his generous contribution revealing that he delivered 100 cows and an abundance of food supplies to support mourners.
“Kalonzo Musyoka has done something that no one else has done he brought 100 cows and enough food to sustain mourners even beyond Christmas. So, to those who will come after he has left, don’t worry here is enough food for you, courtesy of the Kamba community,” she said.
