Maliti urges locals to go for early Cancer Screening

Machakos Deputy Governor Eng. Francis Maliti has urged residents to go for cancer screening frequently. Speaking in Kyawango, Mwala Sub County Maliti said that even those who felt healthy should go for the screening.

This he says is in a bid to start treatment early if one is found with the killer disease.”Let me tell residents to go for cancer screening early so that when one is found with it he or she can be begin treatment before the disease spreads.”

Maliti noted that a lot of people with cancer have died because it was discovered late. He revealed that Machakos County Government has made strides by establishing a cancer centre at Machakos level Five Hospital disclosing it will be launched in September by Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua.

This he added will ensure residents of Machakos access services including Cancer screening easily.

“As a county we are on the final touches and soon a cancer center will be opened to ensure our people get screening free of charge. Maliti added.

The Deputy Governor also congratulated Machakos County Assembly speaker Florence Mwangangi after being elected Vice Chairperson County Assemblies Forum on Friday.

Maliti spoke on Saturday at the burial ceremony of Late Loise Kisila mother to Mwala/Makutano Ward MCA Brian Kisila. The funeral was also attended by Deputy President William Ruto’s wife Rachael Ruto, Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau, KFCB CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua among other leaders.
