Maliti promises radical changes in Agriculture in Machakos, Unveils plan if elected

Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Maliti has promised radical changes in Agriculture in Machakos county if he is elected Governor in August.

Speaking during a Meet the people Tour in Kikambuani, Kangundo sub-county, Maliti said that his first agenda if elected as the next Machakos County Governor will be to ensure that all cooperatives are revived and bring in new factories to improve the agricultural sector and boost farmer income.

Maliti noted that the county was rich in many resources saying that he will establish avocado and macadamia nuts factories in Kangundo sub-county.

“My first agenda when elected as Governor will be to ensure all coffee cooperatives in Machakos county to be revived, all farmers of avocado and Macadamia nuts we must ensure we don’t sell the product to vendors,” Maliti said.

“We shall be selling the avocado oil, and we will ensure that all our cooperatives have responsible management as well as see how their levies will be waved to put them back into process,” he added.

Maliti was in the company of his running mate governor Rose Wambua, Maendeleo Chap Chap Women Representative Aspirant Rita Ndunge, Former Machakos County Health CEC and Kangundo MP Aspirant Ancent Kituku among other leaders.
