Makueni senatorial candidate unveils grand plan for the elderly in the county

NARC Kenya Makueni senatorial candidate Patrick Mbau has promised to push for the establishment of a nursing home in the county to take care of the aged.

Speaking at Emali, Mbau said that there are many elderly who are neglected at home and are not getting sufficient meals or proper care.

“One of the bills I will table in Parliament is the establishment of care homes for the aged. I passed somewhere and saw an old woman left alone under a tree in one home and the house was locked. By the look of the house the family has not enough income to take care of the granny,” said Mbau.

“In countries like America, there are nice homes for the aged where they live and are taken care of. They are groomed and fed living a better life and blessing their country,” he added.

The candidate noted that his agenda for the county will also entail ensuring Mombasa road is made a dual carriage. This is in a bid to ensure cases of accidents are reduced.

“Mombasa road which passes through Ukambani, from Mtito Andei to Mlolongo there is no dual carriage, our Boda Boda guys have been dying by getting under these lorries,”Mbau noted.

He noted that party politics have caused the county to lack development saying that leaders from the county have never had a round table to discuss the county agenda due to party differences.
