Makueni County residents have been called upon to come out in large numbers and actively take part in the public participation exercise on the Ward level. The exercise kicks off Tuesday 4th April.
Damaris Kavoi CEC Finance and socio-economic planning said that the process is a good platform for them to air their voices on the development projects that they want the County Government to factor in the budget for the next financial year 2023/2024.
“We want to request everyone including the business community and those working in offices to attend the meetings that won’t take long. The meetings will begin at 9 am and end at 12.30 noon, quite a short time to help you air your opinion,” she said.
For those outside Kenya, Damaris revealed that the Government will have a platform for them to give their voices too during a mega diaspora meeting that will be held at Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) Nairobi on 14th April.
Kivoi added that the county has prioritized transformative and impactful projects that will help promote economic growth and industrialization within the county. Infrastructure, Communication, Transport, Health, ICT, and electricity connection are among such projects.
Already, the process has taken place in 60 sub-wards.
