To alleviate the financial burden on property owners, the Makueni County Government has announced a 100 percent waiver on penalties and interest arrears on land rates.
This waiver, effective from June 15, 2024, to June 30, 2024, comes as part of a broader initiative to encourage timely payments and reduce outstanding debts.
This decision is authorized under Section 159 of the Public Finance Management Act 2012, with the County Executive Committee Member for Finance, in concurrence with Governor Mutula Kilonzo, spearheading the initiative.
Property owners across Makueni County are urged to take advantage of this limited-time offer to clear their outstanding arrears without incurring additional penalties or interest.
To facilitate the payment process, the County has implemented a strictly cashless system. Property owners can use several M-Pesa Paybill options to settle their dues:
