Makueni Boys High School has emerged as the overall winner in the County Science Congress, earning the opportunity to represent the county at the upcoming regional championships next week.
Following their victory, the students expressed their excitement and determination as they prepare for the next level of competition.
“It was not easy—it took hard work and determination to get this far. We became number one in the county because of everyone’s effort. We promise to be number one in the region,” said Fredrick Wambua Musyoki, one of the students who participated in the competition.
Among the 26 participating schools, the top three schools advancing to the regional level are Makueni Boys with 14 projects, Precious Blood with five, and Mwaani Boys with three.
A teacher from the school praised the students’ creativity and improvements in their scientific and engineering projects.
“Makueni Boys High School has taken almost half of the trophies and certificates because of the innovativeness of the projects. I can confidently say there has been significant improvement in the quality of presentations.” The teacher said.
Another student emphasized the school’s competitive spirit, saying, “We will be showing up for the competition every year to win until our competitors find a winning project of their own.”
The victory highlights Makueni Boys’ commitment to academic excellence and innovation. The regional competition will bring together top-performing schools from different counties, setting the stage for an intense and thrilling contest.
