Mavoko MP Patrick Makau has told off Education CS Prof. George Magoha over remarks he made Monday that principals should send home students who have not paid third term fees. According to Magoha, some of the parents who have not paid fees are doing so yet they can afford it.

Makau said that CS Magoha should be pushing for dialogue between schools and parents on how they can pay fees because a lot of parents lost jobs and their businesses affected from when Covid began.

“Magoha doesn’t understand the problems at the grassroots. Most businesses were affected and people went home. What do you want the parents to pay the fees with? ” The MP said.

Parents must be allowed to pay the fees slowly as they get money from bursaries and find the balance.” Makau went on.

Makau was speaking at Mlolongo ACC offices while distributing NG-CDF bursaries for secondary, tertiary, and university students worth 11 million.
