Machakos County Senator Boniface Kabaka is recuperating at Nairobi Hospital after undergoing successful surgery termed as delicate. According to doctors, Senator Kabaka will be under observation for 72 hours after the surgery to remove a blood clot that was on his head which had caused a severe headache.
This was confirmed by Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua who paid a visit together with Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo junior to Kabaka Friday evening.
“At 3.30 pm he was taken into a theater for delicate surgery to remove a clot in his brain. After four hours doctors successfully removed the clot. He was taken out of the theatre in our presence and taken to ICU. The lead doctor has told us our colleague responded very well.” The Kitui senator in a statement said.
According to a police report, the senator checked into an apartment along Elgeyo Marakwet road where he started complaining of severe headache and asked the lady he was with to get paracetamols for him but they did not work and the lady informed the management who called an ambulance and the senator rushed to the hospital.
Kabaka’s family issued a statement denying the claims that the senator was in the company of a woman saying that he was having a drink at a restaurant in Kilimani where he collapsed but still conscious and asked the management to call an ambulance and he was rushed to Nairobi hospital.
“The Second Senator of Machakos County Hon Boniface Mutinda Kabaka Advocate collapsed yesterday (Thursday 3rd December 2020) while having a drink in a restaurant in Kilimani area yesterday but was still conscious and he requested the management to call for an ambulance to rush him to Nairobi Hospital. Senator Kabaka was admitted to Nairobi Hospital where doctors suspected a case of blood clot affecting his nervous system,” read the statement.
