Kalama MCA Boniface Maeke has issued a fiery warning to Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, accusing her of threats and disrespect towards elected MCAs.
Speaking on Thursday, Maeke claimed Governor Wavinya had threatened to send goons to eject County Assembly Speaker Ann Kiusya.
“If you bring two goons, I will bring 500. We will face off. Don’t buy Makombe for Machakos youths to come and insult leaders. You do not have a monopoly of goons.” Maeke said.
He criticized governors for treating MCAs as subordinates, saying, “We are elected the same way you are elected and we are not your servant.”
Maeke further cited an incident in Isiolo where goons allegedly linked to the governor attacked MCAs, calling it part of a disturbing trend across counties.
Maeke warned any goons planning to invade the County Assembly to ensure they are in a burial group.
He urged governors to respect county assemblies, warning that MCAs would not remain silent in the face of threats and intimidation.
