Machakos MCA asks Kalonzo to leave Raila and work with Ruto

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been urged to align himself with President William Ruto to ensure development in the Ukambani region.

Kinanie/Mathatani Ward Member of County Assembly Francis Wambua Kavyu said that Kalonzo does not need to pledge allegiance to Ruto but work with the reigning government until 2027.

“I’m not asking him to join Kenya Kwanza but to work hand in hand and ensure development for his people, that’s all,” said Kavyu.

The lawmaker also warned the Kamba community not to be involved in the Azimio coalition’s planned rallies.

According to him, such “side shows” will not benefit Mwananchi in any way noting that the Kamba community should cut all cords with Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.

“If we want to benefit as a community we should go separate ways with Raila Odinga because even when he entered to an agreement with the former President no development came to Ukambani,” opined the MCA.

“Look at Kisumu it looks like a City because of the handshake but we didn’t benefit. Thwake dam is stalled and the money for completion is not in Jacaranda or Kamukunji but with the government of today. Konza city was a good idea but very little progress can be seen if we can’t collaborate with the government then it will forever remain an idea,” he added.

He observed that Raila’s planned demos were attempts to have a handshake with the president noting the demos will only cripple operations in Nairobi and neighboring counties like Machakos bringing forth more losses than benefits.
