Machakos leaders speak on Wavinya’s arrest rumours

A day after rumors of the arrest of Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti in the United Kingdom, a section of leaders allied to the Governor have come out to speak on the claims.

Led by Machakos Deputy Speaker Stephen Mwanthi and Lands and Urban Development CECM Nathaniel Nganga dismissed the rumors attributing them to the governors political opponents.

The leaders who spoke in Kithyoko, Masinga said the Governor’s opponents were afraid and that they should wait for 2027.

“Some of her opponents are afraid and have started propaganda. Let them give us substance and give us development record of their masters. Maligning the governor’s name does not translate into votes. The Governor is okay and is continuing with her UK trip and she will return soon.” Mwanthi said.

“In international travel regulations, there are laws that govern the amount of money anyone can travel with from one country to another. Whatever is in social media is baseless and hogwash from idle people. “CECM Nganga said.

“In the last month, the governor has launched projects continuously, her opponents do not have any response. There are roads everywhere, schools, and polytechnics, we did youth empowerment and her opponents have now resulted in propaganda.” Nganga added.

Justus Kitengu head of the Governor’s delivery unit blamed Machakos County MPs for the propaganda promising them that once the Governor returns they will be launching and commissioning projects in all wards.

“We are coming for a Marathon project luncheon and we will do 2 projects per day. If they feel threatened by Mama’s presence on the ground, we are coming.”Kitengu said.
