Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi has urged the national government to secure the release of Kenyans who were recently abducted.
Speaking during a burial ceremony at Kikumini in Makueni County, Mwangangi expressed deep concern over the rising cases of forced disappearances and abductions across the country.
He called on security agencies to act swiftly and ensure the safe return of the missing individuals to their families. The Deputy Governor emphasized that abductions are a violation of fundamental human rights and undermine national security.
“It is disheartening to see families suffer while their loved ones remain unaccounted for. The government must take immediate and decisive action to find and release those who have been abducted,” Mwangangi stated.
Mwangangi also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities by reporting suspicious activities that could prevent such incidents in the future. He further encouraged dialogue between communities and the government to address underlying issues contributing to insecurity.
His remarks come at a time when concerns about the safety and protection of citizens have been heightened, with human rights organizations and families of the abducted calling for justice and accountability.
