Machakos County Attorney James Kathili has spoken days after he resigned from his position.
Speaking to the press, Kathili cited mistreatment as what made him resign from his job noting that his office at the county headquarters had been closed since May 2024.
He said that after his office had been closed he could not access cabinet meetings nor be able to represent the county in the court.
“It has not been a very pleasant moment especially after being associated with corruption by allegedly grabbing lands and losing cases in the court yet I have done my work diligently God is my witness. When you are denied funding how do you move, Since May my office at the white house was closed and my things taken away. I have sought audience with the governor in vain,” Kathili said.
Kathili alleged he was denied access to the Whitehouse and could not perform his duties. He decried Character assassination by County officials.
“The County Secretary has said no one can access the Governor without passing through him. What do you do when you are locked out have tried going to cabinet meetings but have been denied entry to the office. Someone calls and says I do not attend cabinet meetings shall I fly to the meetings? Junior staff are told to deny me access to the white house. My clarion call is that this is a county led by law so you can’t wake up and character assassinate people, going to call MCAs and tell them to impeach this person because he was fighting his wife in public,” he added.
Early this week the county attorney came in public to tender his resignation letter to Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
