Machakos County Chief of Staff Lawrence Ngovi has been reinstated after he was sacked in July.
In a post on the Machakos County Government’s Facebook page, the Chief of Staff accompanied by the Sports CECM were seen inspecting projects.
“The County Government of Machakos is fast-tracking the implementation of various key development projects coming up in the New Machakos City. The Muindi Mbingu Speciality Hospital and the Football Technical Center are coming up with speed and elegance. Sports Executive Committee Member, Hon. Sharon Mutua alongside Chief of Staff, Lawrence Ngovi under instructions of H.E Governor Wavinya Ndeti toured the sites to assess the progress,” read the post.
In July 2024, a letter by the County Secretary Dr. Muya Ndambuki was released to the public informing them that Lawrence Ngovi had been relieved of his duties as the chief of staff.
“This is to inform the general public that Mr. Lawrence Ngovi has been relieved of all his duties as the Chief Of Staff at the office of the Governor Machakos County from today 19th July 2024. He is therefore not authorized to transact any business for and on behalf of the county.”The letter then read.
