United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party completed its nomination exercise that had been scheduled for the 14th of April across Machakos County and the entire country.
The Aspirants who won during the exercise were given their Certificates at Muslim Township Primary.
The party had conducted nominations for MCA in three sub-counties; Mavoko, Kathiani, and Matungulu.
In Athi River ward three people were contesting for the UDA ticket where Peter Mutinda Muoki garnered 116 votes making him the UDA MCA candidate in that ward.
In Mlolongo/Syokimau ward the one who will run for MCA on a UDA ticket is Munguti Abednego Musyoki who had 322 votes.
In Muthwani Ward, Owino Fabian is going to vie for the MCA seat on a UDA ticket after getting 207 votes
Kathiani Subcounty, Mitaboni/Mathunya ward Philip Mutua won with 3,503 votes, While in Upper Kaewa/Iveti Mutuku Simon Makau got 1,129 votes and in Lower Kaewa/Kaani Kioko Nicholas Mwenze got 1,462 votes.
In Matungulu Subcounty only two wards held nominations for the UDA party where in Matungulu West Ward Okuku Arnold Mahulo got 624 votes and Matungulu North Alice Kalekye got 458 votes.
The aspirants speaking after being issued nomination certificates thanked the UDA party for ensuring that they conducted a free and fair nomination exercise and ensuring it was peaceful.
“I want to thank the UDA party for giving me this certificate and giving us an opportunity to campaign. The nominations exercise was peaceful, free, and fair,” One of the Aspirants said.
The aspirants are now set to join their opponents from other parties in campaigning for their respective positions.
