Kyeleni Ward MCA Grace Bahati has issued a stern warning to all CECs in Machakos County who have absconded their duties.
Speaking during a General oversight committee session in the County Assembly, Bahati said that any CEC who does not work as per the guidelines of his or her appointment shall be axed.
She went ahead to note that despite the County Assembly approving budgets for the ministries, it was sad that some of them were not delivering to the residents.
“We want to mention this as honourable members that do not have a kitty and there is no single day that we have denied any docket money. We have passed budgets and even supplementary budgets,” said Kyeleni ward MCA.
“When we pass this money and I need to send a signal to all the Waziris, Governor, and us, we were elected but you were appointed, a huge difference. We will not be playing table tennis here, we will ensure that work must be done in our county, we shall be doing firing and hiring if people are not delivering to our county,” she added.
The vocal MCA went ahead to say that they shall not be silenced by anyone as they hold the County Executive to account.
To the affordable bloggers, continue being affordable, but we will ensure that we will not relent in fighting for the residents. We only have 2 years to deliver to our people,” She concluded.
