A section of leaders from Kitui county now want Baringo Senator Gideon Moi to support Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for the presidency in the upcoming 2022 general elections.

The leaders, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua and Kitui Central MP Makali Mulu said Kalonzo was best suited for the position.

Makali said that Gideon’s father and retired President Daniel Arap Moi during his tenure had groomed Kalonzo for the presidency.

“Before the retired president Daniel Moi passed may his soul Rest In Peace he had a big son and your brother who he had groomed and that son is Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka. My plea to you now Kalonzo is your elder brother, this time support us to get Kalonzo a wife first,” said Mulu.

The legislator pleaded with Gideon to negotiate in favor of Kalonzo anytime a chance arises at the national negotiating table.

He noted that Ukambani region where Kalonzo has led for long supported Moi’s regime when most leaders loathed it. Mulu’s sentiments were seconded by Senator Kiio Wambua who asked Gideon to consider the request.

“God willing if God gives us good health we be there in 2022, Respectfully here we say we have a man who has been mentored by Moi and Kibaki and we see he has reached a level to be president. As Kambas we want to unite behind Kalonzo Musyoka to be president.” Kiio said.

The leaders spoke during a fundraising event at AIC Kyondoni in Kitui where Gideon Moi, CS Joe Mucheru, KFCB chair Ezekiel Mutua among other leaders attended.

Gideon Moi while addressing the congregants said it was time for leaders to unite and build bridges as the “enemy” was known.
