Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu received her Covid-19 vaccination at Kitui Level 4 Hospital Wednesday. Out of the 4,000 vials received, 2,000 people have been vaccinated.
“We had been issued with 4,000 vials of Covid-19 AstraZeneca vaccine in Kitui County and am glad so far we have used half of the vials and I urge people to turn up for the vaccine so that we can ask for more of it and keep our people safe from the pandemic,” she said.
Ngilu said that for the people who would not manage to access Kitui Level 4 or rather health facilities due to special needs that the vaccine would be brought at their doorstep as a way of ensuring that everybody gets vaccinated against the deadly virus.
“I Have dispatched cars to the grassroots with nurses and clinical officers to ensure the people who are not able to access the vaccine get it and also to educate more people on the vaccine,” she added.
According to the ministry of health, Kitui residents can also access the vaccination from; Neema Hospital Annex, Kitui Family care Hospital, Jordan Hospital, Katulani sub-county Hospital, in Kitui central.
Zombe sub-county Hospital, Mutomo Sub-county Hospital, Mutitu Sub-county Hospital, Muthale mission hospital, Migwani sub-county hospital, Our lady of Lourdes Mutomo Hospital, Kauwi, Ikanga, Ikutha, Kyuso, Mwingi, Kanyangi, Tseikuru, and Nuu sub-county hospitals.
