Kitui County Government Conducts Simulation Exercise for Data Collection

Kitui County Government officials led by Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele, the County Executive for Agriculture and Livestock, conducted a dry run data collection exercise across key market locations, including Kitui CBD, Mulutu, Wikililye, and several other busy areas.

This simulation is part of a countywide initiative aimed at improving service delivery through a comprehensive data-driven approach.

Dr. Mbaya highlighted the importance of this testing phase. He stated that this preliminary exercise would help identify and rectify potential data collection errors before the main rollout, thereby enhancing the accuracy of the collected data.

“Building a robust data infrastructure will support long-term growth, assess inadequacies, and address inequalities,” said Dr. Mbaya.

“Through ongoing assessment of service adequacy, Kitui County aims to foster a favorable environment for businesses, improve quality of life for residents, and promote sustainable development across the region,” he added.

The simulation’s results will be thoroughly analyzed to optimize the process for the full-scale data collection operation, which will span Kitui Municipality, Mwingi Municipality, Subcounty Headquarters, major towns, and shopping centers within villages.

This data collection will focus on businesses and landowners, gathering insights to evaluate current service adequacy and address the specific needs of the community.
