
Kitise/Kithuki ward Muungano party MCA aspirant Julius Mutunga Nzumbi has gone missing. His disappearance was reported by the Muunganoo party stating that he was last seen on Sunday.
According to a letter seen by Mauvoo News and authored by Jonathan Mwaniki the Muungano party secretary-general, Nzumbi was spotted entering a private vehicle in Mbuvo market at around 11 am.
The party expressed fears that their candidate could have been kidnapped and is being held captive by their rivals or unknown people for political reasons. The candidate was supposed to present his papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission in Wote on Tuesday the 19th.
“Our candidate Julius Mutunga Nzumbi has gone missing since yesterday 17th January 2021 from around 11 am. He was last seen entering a private motor vehicle at Mbuvo market,” The letter read in part.
“The family and Muungano party are highly suspicious and worried that Mr. Nzumbi could be held captive or hostage by our rival parties or unknown people for political reasons. Our candidate was supposed to present his nomination papers at the IEBC offices at Wote on Tuesday 19th/01/2021,” The letter went on.
Members of the public have been urged to provide information that may lead to his whereabouts. His disappearance was reported at Wote police station under OB2718/01/2021.
