Members of the Kithungo Raha band that is led by Alphonse Kioko popularly known as Maima were involved in an accident on Friday morning.
According to reports, the band was traveling to Kitui where their band leader was set to perform Friday night at a popular entertainment joint in the town.
The accident took place a few kilometers after Kwa Vonza market in Kitui Rural along Machakos-Kitui road. Mauvoo News got reports that the vehicle carrying the band members lost control before rolling and overturning where band members like the guitarists and other backup singers were injured and taken to Kitui County referral hospital to get treatment.
The vehicle was towed and taken to the Kwa Vonza police station and no one was reported dead after the accident.
Alphonse Kioko also known as Maima was not in the vehicle and was set to travel on Friday evening to come and join his band members.
Maima was performing on Friday Morning at an entertainment joint in Athi River, Machakos County. According to reports, the band members sustained minor injuries.
