Kilome MP Thaddeus Nzambia has declared that the opposition will be the country’s saving grace after the 2027 general elections, vowing to reverse what he termed as punitive policies introduced by the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speaking during a public gathering, Nzambia said opposition leaders are well-prepared to bring meaningful change to Kenyans, starting with abolishing the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) and the housing levy.
He accused President William Ruto’s government of imposing a heavy tax burden on ordinary citizens, particularly public servants, whose payslips continue to shrink despite their crucial roles in nation-building.
“The Kenya Kwanza government has failed the people. They have taxed everything, including the air we breathe. Public servants are struggling to make ends meet, yet the government remains deaf to their cries,” Nzambia stated.
The legislator further dismissed the government’s development record, arguing that despite being in power for over two years, Kenya Kwanza has little tangible progress to show.
The MP accused the administration of prioritizing taxation over service delivery, leaving Kenyans frustrated and disillusioned.
Nzambia exuded confidence that the opposition will form the next government, naming key figures who he believes will lead the country in a new direction.
He listed Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, and seasoned politician Martha Karua as the team that will take over the reins of leadership.
“Kenyans are fed up. Their payslips are growing thinner by the day, and even the officers you see here are suffering—it’s only that they cannot speak out for fear of victimization,” he remarked.
