‘Kidnapped’ Makueni MCA aspirant resurfaces, steps down from race

Muungano party has been dealt a blow after their Kitise/Kithuki ward MCA aspirant pulled out from the race. Julius Nzumbi who had gone missing since Sunday resurfaced and announced he will not be participating in the race.

He added that he is now supporting the Wiper candidate for the elections.

The politician who lost in the recent Wiper nominations denied claims that he had been kidnapped and disclosed that he wanted peace of mind opting to stay away.

Julius Nzumbi revealed that after seeking advice he decided to opt-out of the race. His decision has left the Muungano party without a candidate in the mini polls.

Nzumbi dismissed the claims saying none of his family members had reported he was missing as they knew where he was.

Nzumbi was supposed to submit his papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission on Tuesday. He was however missing in action prompting a section of the residents to demonstrate over his disappearance.

A letter seen by the Muungano party in possession of Mauvoo news on Monday had confirmed that the aspirant had gone missing and political rivals were on the top of the suspect’s list.

It was reported that he had been lastly seen in Mbuvo market boarding a private vehicle. His worried mother narrated that his son had left his car and motorcycle at home before leaving.
