Kibwana’s Minister and ally Robert Kisyula joins UDA

Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana’s ally and Gubernatorial Aspirant Robert Kisyula has today joined UDA Party. He was serving as the CECM Gender, Children, and social services before resigning last month to vie for Governor. He previously served as Agriculture CECM, Water CECM, and Devolution CECM From 2016 in the first term of Governor Kibwana.

Kisyula had for some time been rumored to be the preferred successor of Prof. Kivutha Kibwana but off late the Governor is said to have a soft spot for Prof. Philip Kaloki. Last month, there were speculations that Prof. Philip Kaloki could be quitting Wiper to defend his seat on Kibwana’s Muungano party.

Kisyula was received by DP William Ruto today at Karen and was accompanied by Makueni County UDA Gubernatorial candidate, Prof. Emmanuel Mutisya, Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka among others.

According to our source at the meeting, Kisyula will now vie for Makueni senator and will compete with his former boss, Prof. Kibwana who is running for the same seat. He committed to work with Prof. Mutisya and all other UDA candidates in the county to deliver many seats for UDA in Makueni.

In January, Kibwana’s Deputy Adelina Mwau defected from the Wiper party to join DP Ruto’s UDA Party. She will be vying for the county women rep seat. Adelina has since decried the withdrawal of the official car, security, and press team after the move.
