Fundamentals hitmaker Kennedy Wambua Nguze alias Ken wa Maria has endorsed the Wiper candidate in the March 18th By-election Agnes Kavindu. Wa maria was speaking during a perfomance at an Umoja joint, Nairobi.
The singer cleared the air over rumors that he was to vie saying the most important thing now was to get a weak candidate who he will easily remove when vying for the seat in 2022.
“My plans were to vie for the seat in 2022. Kabaka’s death and my timing are not matching. I said I will run for the Senatorial seat in 2022. 2022 and 2021 are different.” Ken wa Maria said amid cheers.
“The only solution is we find a weak candidate we give her the seat now and we wait for 2022. That person who is very weak is Agnes Kavindu and you will forgive me.” He added.
In 2017, the renown singer unsuccessfully contested the Matuu ward MCA seat and is believed to have an interest in politics. In 2013, he campaigned across the county alongside Alfred Mutua.
Agnes Kavindu is set to face off with UDA’s Urbanus Muthama, Mutua Katuku of Maendeleo Chap Chap, Lily Nduku of CCU, Simeon Kitheka of GDDP, and other 11 aspirants that have been cleared for nominations by the IEBC.
